Become a Maryland Lead Teacher
Complete the Maryland 90-hour training path for lead teacher qualification. This includes 45 hours of Child Growth and Development plus 45 hours of curriculum training for your age group: Infant/Toddler, Preschool, or School Age.
Become a Maryland Child Care Director
Prepare for center leadership with Maryland-approved director and administrator training. ChildCareEd offers the 45 Hours Director-Administration course along with supporting training in communication, ADA, health and safety, emergency preparedness, and other required areas.
Become a Maryland Family Child Care Provider
Start your family child care pathway with Maryland-approved pre-service training. Use an MSDE Training Voucher
Eligible Maryland child care providers may use up to $400 in MSDE Training Voucher support for select approved pre-service training, approved conference registration, or approved early childhood college coursework.
Complete Maryland Annual Training
Maryland child care professionals must complete continued training each year. Center teachers and directors generally need 12 clock hours annually, including at least 6 hours in a Core of Knowledge area. Family child care providers generally complete 18 hours during the first year of registration and 12 hours each year after that.
